For the first time ever, I had someone not show up or cancel their appointment. I am very disappointed by that. Everyone I asked about it said the same thing, "make a Cancellation Policy!" After giving it some thought, I've realized that I needed to BLOG about it.
Usually, Tarot Dates go quite easily. We make a date, we do the reading, and then I invoice you. If for some reason any of my clients needed to reschedule, they've always told me in plenty of time. I am always more than happy to move appointments. Being stood up, however... not a good color for me.
What happened the other night was a definitive Stand-Up. I got no call, no message, nothing. At first, I was angry. This person had just cost me an entire hour and I was upset. But then, I gathered my self and realized what I needed to do... invoice her. So, I did! I think that if my time is ever going to be respected, I have to be the one who does it. I felt bad for having to send someone an invoice that didn't get read, but what she did was unacceptable.
Will I make a harsh Cancellation Policy? I don't know... I understand that things sometimes happen and invoicing someone in crisis is NOT my thing. Many Psychics/Readers I know have a PRE-PAY policy. that isn't so bad. What are your thoughts on that? Should it be a Cancelation Policy, or a PrePay?
Until I get it all figured out, things will remain as they are. I have had a lot of success with how I do things and I don't want others to suffer for the actions of one. So, like I said... for now, things will stay as they are. But if you ever need to move an appointment, let me know! I will always go above and beyond to accommodate you! There's never a need to stand a hooker up, am I right?!
