During Tarot Dates, I like to take time to discuss spiritual growth and development. Sadly, too many people ignore the spiritual aspect of their lives. Worse than that, many people don't even know how to get in touch with their spirit. I have used the Tarot to help many people with this, even my self. So, let's BLOG about it.
The first step you must take to find your spiritual self is to realize what moves your spirit. It should be perplexing to your mind, deepen your consciousness, and activate the best qualities of who you are. For some people, meditation is how they center and connect to light. For other people, prayer is the way to their soul. For me, nothing works better than chanting and silent prayer. Whatever works for you will do... as long as it works!
The second step is to do what moves you and to live in rhythm with it. This means that if prayer is how you connect with your divinity, do it. If Yoga is how you recharge and renew, Downward Dog for all you're worth. And don't half-ass it! You have got to intensely and consistently do what stirs your spirit. Don't just turn on the music of your soul and walk off, dance for crying out loud!
Once you have found what moves you and begin utilizing it, you have got to let go of everything else. Although this is the last step in our process, it is a crucial step. Let go of your self judgement. Let go of pressures others put on you. Let go of your fear, doubt, and anxiety. Instead, take refuge in your spiritual path and live in the light that is inherent in your life. And if you do what I am suggesting, letting go will gradually become easier and easier.
The sad truth is that human beings are endowed with a deep, spiritual consciousness that is being robbed from us. Work, family pressures, taxes, and politics have turned us all into machines. And I am here to tell you, that ain't the way to live. The only way to combat this is to wake up your spirit, live in your light, and let go of everything else. Stop trading your grace for Facebook, start living in your grace and nurturing it. If you do, your life might just change and the familiar warmth of spirit will return.
